It’s news to nobody that house prices in Dublin are on the rise but this latest stat has left us completely gobsmacked.
The team at Broadsheet noticed that a two-bedroom terraced house in Smithfield was sold for €150,000 in February and resurfaced on Daft.ie this month.
Nothing too unusual about that.
However, the shocking part is that the price tag of the modest property on Nicholas Avenue jumped by 70% over the space of two months and is now on sale for €250,000.

The house has undergone a full renovation since the purchase and the asking price wouldn’t be exceptional for the area, but quarter of a million for a tiny two-bedroom still seems crazy to us.
Whoever flipped it will be laughing all the way to the bank though!
