There’s nothing we love more than finding amazing products that are made right here in Ireland.
When it comes to innovation, global scale and just general coolness, Arckit ticks all the boxes – and would make an ideal Christmas gift.
Invented by Irish architect Damien Murtagh, Arckit has been dubbed the ‘architect’s/Grown up Lego’ and ‘reality Minecraft’ for its advanced freeform capabilities and universal appeal with both adults and kids of all ages.
The multi award-winning kits revolutionised traditional architectural model making in 2014, and have since made waves within speciality toy/gift – and now they’ve launched their 2.0 series ahead of the 2018 Christmas season.
If you loved building houses on The Sims, you are going to love this.
You definitely do not need to be an architect to enjoy these hands-on kits.
The full range of kits open up the world of architecture to literally anyone for the first time ever, encouraging budding designers to use the power of their imagination to spontaneously create anything from their own dream home to incredible cities using the patented ‘freeform’ modular components.
This year, the guys have launched Arckit 2.0, Cityscape + and a product just for kids – LITTLE Architect sets from the ArckitPLAY range.
Damien explained the inspiration behind the new products.
Arckit has really taken off in schools over the past 12 months and with architecture now officially recognised in the US as a STEM subject, we wanted to make the experience of using our design tool even more immersive, enjoyable and accessible to all.
We want to inspire adults, children and their communities to think about their built environments and to be able to visualise their homes and cities of the future, only in miniature.”
Want to get ahead of your Chrimbo shopping? They have a fab Black Friday sale happening right now:
And there’s plenty on offer for big kids as well
They ship worldwide, so this could be the perfect option for friends and family living abroad.

We reckon we’ll definitely be seeing Arckit on The Late Late Toy Show this year… but don’t forget where you heard about it first!
