I think every single person in Dublin is in full agreement that Tinder is a frustrating experience.
First, there's the endless scrolling through tons of non-runners before you find someone you like the look of.
Then, you have to cross your fingers and hope that they're swiped right for you as well.
Next up, the endless wait for a message (or a reply if you made the first move).
And even if all the above go your way, you could end up chatting for aaaaaages before you finally come with a plan for a real-life face-to-face date.
Well, one Dublin man has come up with a new app that could revolutionise the way that we date.
Wynk is the brainchild of 21-year-old John Christopher and co-founder Darragh McKay and aims to make it easier to convert those online connections into actual dates.
The app asks you to swipe left or right for fellow users - pretty standard - but also to swipe for different activities.
Once someone likes you AND the same activities, you match - so you have a plan for a date before you even start chatting.
"We’ve all been there, like I was, building up endless matches but having nothing to talk about. Even when you do get talking, it stalls when you try turn that match into a date," explained John.
"With Wynk, in one swipe you’ve organised a date. Giving you more time to focus on getting to know each other rather than worrying about what you’re going to do together."
The app will be launched in Dublin later this month and will be available for both Apple and Android devices.
