An apartment in Dublin available for rent has been posted on Daft.ie, but the landlord has stated that she cannot accept the rental assistance payment as she is not registered.
Posting on Twitter, ‘Dublin Rental Investigator’ claims the landlord is discriminating against people who use HAP as it breaks the Equal Status Act 2000-15 on housing grounds.
Discrimination 1st thing Monday Morning. Susan/Brendan offer a room in Greenwood for €1,200. They say ‘i can not take hap, im not reg yet’. That’s not how it works, you cannot discriminate under the Equal Status Act 2000-15 Housing Ground #RentalCrisis https://t.co/bbKoZD8mCQ pic.twitter.com/p2qEwAQyfQ
