We don’t like to see Dublin coming in at the bottom of any list so this makes for hard reading.

In the Expat City Ranking for 2018, Dublin has come in at 66th, just six places from the bottom.

The rankings are based on the Expat insider survey which was conducted by InterNations.

It ranks the cities on a number of factors including: quality of urban living, getting settled, urban work life, as well as finance & housing.

“With more than 18,000 respondents living and working abroad, it is one of the most extensive expat studies in the world,” the Financial Times state.

The worst ten cities in the world are:

  • Milan (63rd)
  • Johannesburg
  • Stuttgart
  • Dublin
  • Paris
  • London
  • Stockholm
  • Rome
  • Jeddah
  • Riyadh (72nd)

At the top of the pile, Taipei stands tall at number one and is followed by many other Asian places in the top five. As well as this
