Brought to you by Cairn Community Games
For almost six decades, Community Games have been on a mission to boost the participation of young people in sport and arts, with stacked calendars of events that not only promote health, fitness and wellbeing, but foster real change in communities.
Since 2024, Cairn, one of Ireland's leading homebuilders has been the proud partner of Community Games, and through the "We're All In" campaign, incredible strides have been made across the country. Just last year alone, for instance, a whopping 173,000 young people across 430 towns took part in the games, bolstered by the support of over 10,000 volunteers.
But that's not all. Since Cairn teamed up with Community Games, participation has grown by 13,000 young people, including 5,000 girls, alongside an 11% uptick in arts and cultural engagement. And with figures from Spunout suggesting that one in five 12-34 year-olds experience loneliness, Cairn Community Games plan to build on this momentum even further.
With the "We're All In" sponsorship platform, the Games are moving beyond participation and towards building real social infrastructure that drives connection, belonging and youth wellbeing. Their latest project, a community-led art installation, is testament to Cairn Community Games' commitment to empower young people.
The mural – which is the size of an Olympic swimming pool – was on display in Seven Mills, Dublin 22. The colourful project was constructed by Hixxy, with vital contributions from young people involved in Cairn Community Games. The result is a breathtaking work of art that speaks to the power of belonging in an era of disconnection.
