Hedgehog Cafés Are Now A Thing And You Need To Go

katedemolder

Yes, you read that correctly: hedgehog cafés are now a thing.

Well, in Tokyo. But if it gets on well there, there’ll surely be one in Dublin any day now, right? Right?!

The aptly named café Harry, allows you to hang out and play with its more than 20 hedgehog residents, for a small hourly fee. Harry serves drinks, but is BYOB (except for alcoholic drinks) and BYOF, so it’s basically the Enid Blyton hedgehog picnic you’ve always dreamed of.

One member of staff, Mizuki Murata, had this to say,

We wanted to show people the charm of hedgehogs, which give the impression of being hard to handle […] We wanted to get rid of that image by letting people touch them. The cutest thing about hedgehogs is getting them to finally open up and show you their face.
