The Spar In Ranelagh Village Has Closed Its Doors For The Last Time

It’s been a part of the village for as long as any of us can remember – but the Spar in Ranelagh, on the corner with Chelmsford Road opposite Dillingers, is no more.

It closed earlier this week after 25 years of service, according to a notice posted in the window, after its lease came to an end.

The other Spar outlet in the village, located on the Triangle, is operated by the same owners – and this will continue its operations, both as a shop and as the local post office.

In addition to that, the notice also assured customers that there would be no job losses as a result of the closure. So that’s good news at least – and we’re looking forward to seeing what moves into the premises.
