In a social media statement, the rock group said that their "dear friend and manager" died on Sunday, 7 June and that they were "utterly heartbroken".
"Trevor was beside us from the beginning of our journey as a band," they added. "We have never known Fontaines D.C. without him, the sixth member of the band.
"He cared passionately for us and for what was fair and right in the wider world. He was fearless in his beliefs. We will miss him always.
"We ask that you kindly respect our privacy and that of his family at this terribly difficult time. RIP Trev."
Trevor was also well known for his work as a club promoter and DJ in Dublin.
He first came to prominence in 2001 with his Radiator club night, which ran for eight years.
Following this, he served as entertainment manager at Garage Bar and club nights manager/promoter at The Workman’s Club, when both opened their doors in 2010.
