You've Been Warned - Cockroaches Are On The Rise In Dublin

Cockroaches are one of those insects that just make our skin crawl, similar to spiders, slugs or anything else that enters our homes without invitation.

Unfortunately, pet control company Rentokil warned today the number of cockroaches in Ireland is on the rise, with call-outs for infestations up by 69 per cent in the last year.

Dublin is the most cockroach-infested county in the country, with over 60 per cent of reports based in the capital.

The rise has been blamed on an increase in foreign travel, popularity of imported foods and warmed weather.

It's not just the 'ick' factor that we have to worry about either, as the insects can cause gastroenteritis and asthma.
