8 Of The Best Gluten-Free Friendly Places To Eat In Dublin

Louise

2017 is your year! You’re going to get fit and take control of your life – YEAH!

Buuuut we’re now deep in the grasp of the January blues and that chocolate bar is looking really tasty…

But fear not, my fellow weak-willed humans, the month is almost over and we can put Dry January behind us.

However, you don’t have to fall off that health wagon to actually start enjoying your life again. There is something you can do to live a healthier life, and that is avoiding gluten. Reducing gluten in your diet is a great way to keep your digestive system ticking over and your body working exactly as it should.

Whether you have coeliac disease, are gluten-intolerant or have recently gone on a bit of a gluten detox, here are some of the best restaurants where you can eat out and avoid gluten at the same time.

Bunsen

Burgers, burgers, burgers and more burgers.

A lot of the time, coeliacs are just given the option of having something without the bread (and what is a life without bread?), but Bunsen introduced their gluten-free burger buns a few years back and haven’t looked back since.

Charlotte Quay

Something a little more upmarket here, and why not? Treat yo’self!

Their menu is ridiculously tasty, but don’t just take my word for it. Yum?

This lovely restaurant is right on the water, has gotten rave reviews and should be on everyone’s to-visit list.

Charlottes Quay

Lemon and Duke

This new ultra-slick bar and restaurant has something for everyone with their healthy menu that has delicious offerings such as seared yellow fin tuna *heart eye emoji*

The staff are helpful and will point you in the right direction when it comes to ordering.

Rustic Stone

The Rustic Stone is another restaurant that does a fantastic job of clearly marking their menus, and because their menu is so large and extensive, there are so many gluten-free options.

Angelina’s

Angelina’s is a stunning spot with a full view of the royal canal and pretty much all of their dishes (including some brunch options!) have a gluten-free option, including their pizzas.

This a solid gluten-free choice, but can get very busy at the weekends – it’s just that good.

Featherblade

Featherblade is a no fuss, good food kind of place.

They stick by one rule and that is ‘all hail the divine bovine’ and they stick to it rigidly. From juicy steak to ribs that are falling off the bone, we are hungry just thinking about it.

The Old Spot

Located in Ballsbridge, this is a gastro-pub that goes above and beyond with its food.

They have some mouth-watering options on their menu for non-gluten eating folk, such as wild venison with jerusalem artichoke, colcannon and hazelnut & cocoa nibs.

Coppinger Row

If you’re a fan of fine Mediterranean dining, then you’ll be a fan of Coppinger Row.

Just listen to this: salt marsh duck breast with fondant potato and pickled cabbage.

So, where will you be heading for your next gluten-free meal?
