You know what'd be a great way to make the interminable wait for your bus somewhat more bearable? Free arcade games — which is exactly what you'll find at several bus stops around Dublin right now.
Claw machines, probably one of the most addictive games from our childhood, were installed outside Dunnes Stores on George's Street, in front of Spar on Baggot Street and outside the Skylon Hotel in Drumcondra over the weekend.
Since these toy grabbers are actually free to use, they'll be adored by parents with kids in tow... as will adults with a perfectly healthy habit of collecting teddy bears.
Check 'em out
The claw machines contain 'Goodness Gang' teddies, composed of a range of colourful characters designed to make kids more interested in fruit and veg. These toys can be found in Lidl stores around the country for the next 10 weeks.
How do you pick 'em up?
Here are the steps for collecting the Goodness Gang by shopping at Lidl:
Spend €20 to get your initial two stickers for a collector card
For every €10 after that you'll receive one additional sticker
Once you've collected 10 stickers, you can buy a teddy for €3.99
If you collect 20 stickers, you get a teddy for free
And you can even bring the teddies to life
By downloading the Lidl Goodness Gang Go app these characters can be brought alive through QR codes dotted around Lidl stores with bonus characters found online using this micro-site.
Know any little 'uns who'd love one of those toys?
The seven Goodness Gang characters will be available in Lidl stores around Ireland until April 1.
