This Pop-Up Cafe Is Raising Money For A Very Good Cause

We can all do with taking some time out.

This time of year can be pretty busy - rushing around the shops, meeting people, getting everything ready for Christmas. This year, SuperValu’s new “All Things Considered” Café is opening its doors to encourage us all to consider taking time to catch up with someone you may not have seen for a while or who may be a little lonely at this time of the year. The festive season can be a wonderfully joyous time of year, but SuperValu knows that it can also be a tough time for those living alone. With statistics indicating that there will be over 300,000 people over the age of 65 living alone in Ireland by 2021, there has never been a greater need for action! For two days this weekend, SuperValu will host their pop-up cafe in the heart of Dublin in a bid to get the nation to take some time to catch up with someone - all the while supporting the cause and raising funds for ALONE - the Irish charity that supports older people to age at home. Figures show that those who reported feeling lonely have 64% greater risk of developing dementia in old age than those who did not feel lonely. It's clear to see this is a very important cause. The 'All Things Considered' cafe will open at 41 South William Street this Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th from 10am - 8pm to support Alone. Enjoy choosing from a menu of Christmas favourites from the Specially Sourced wine range, SuperValu Christmas cakes and sandwiches and Signatures Tastes meats and cheese platters with proceeds from the menu going to ALONE. With SuperValu at the heart of 217 communities, this year they are asking their shoppers to take some time out to catch up with someone in their community this Christmas, over a cuppa and a mince pie with 20c from all packs of Signature Taste mince pies will go to ALONE. So, if you're out shopping some crazy Black Friday deals or picking up your Christmas presents, take a friend or an older relative along and join SuperValu for a weekend of chat Share your Christmas catch ups with SuperValu's Facebook, Twitter or Instagram
