Seen as I'm opening up to you guys and being honest, I'd also like to point out that I'm not the best at looking after my hair, in general.

It's festival season and I want to look fierce.

I woke up one morning recently and as I brushed my teeth, I looked at myself in the mirror and all I could see was the thick, dark, gingery roots that were crawling out of my scalp, that no amount of dry shampoo could mask.

Ew.

After that moment, I knew a serious hair transformation was needed. I looked around online and after stalking the divine pictures of the back of people's heads, I knew there was only one place for me.

Zero One Salon on Wicklow Street is a luxury spot that will leave you with serious hair goals.

As I walked into the salon, I could tell that my experience here would be top quality.

What's the suss?

The salon spans across three floors but the ground floor is the main styling area.

Every detail has been thought out, from the delicate vintage-esque wallpaper to the star-lit ceilings in the treatment room. I was seated in a luxurious chair and the daintiest little floral cup of coffee was placed in front of me.

The stylist talked me through what treatments he thought would suit me best and how I could achieve my dream hair colour. He was super friendly made the whole experience chill AF.

At every station is a price list, kind of like a menu but for your hair. It lists all of the treatments and your stylist can give you a price estimate before they begin the process.

I opted for a colour and cut, to brighten up and give some life to my hair.

What was your first impression?

My stylist painted my hair and put babylights on the top. For someone who usually gets a full head of highlights, this was a new experience for me. I could tell my stylist knew exactly what he was talking about however, so I trusted him fully.

The treatment was much quicker than usual and the stylist was super chatty. I felt really comfortable and at ease, which is exactly what I look for in a salon.

During the process, he showed me what products he was using and why, I knew exactly what he was doing to my hair and what I should be doing to keep it looking healthy.

How did your hair turn out?

There's many a time I've been in the hairdressers and when they show me the finished product I'm not entirely happy with it.

Thankfully, that wasn't the case this time.

My hair was the blondest I've ever seen it and it looked super healthy and full.

I really like how it was styled and I couldn't wait to show my friends and family.

As soon as I put a photo on my Instagram, I had people writing to me. When I came back to work everyone noticed I had gotten my hair done. That's all you ever want really, isn't it? For people to notice your hair transformation. In my case, this change was pretty drastic, but in the best way possible.

I was really impressed with my Zero One as a salon and with the final result of my hair.

It's exactly what I wanted and I adore how healthy my hair looks because it was a bit dry and ratty before my treatment.

Next time I need a top up, I know these guys could sort me right out.
