Conor McGregor took part in a press conference in Moscow, Russia on Thursday morning.

McGregor travelled to the home country of his fierce rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov, for a promotional event this week and answered questions in relation to his long-awaited UFC comeback.

While ‘The Notorious’ spent large portions of his press conference discussing his brand of whiskey and his new partnership with Parimatch, McGregor did reveal when he is planning to return to the Octagon, as well as the location of his first fight since his defeat to Nurmagomedov last October.

“I would like to announce to the public that the return of ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor will take place on 18 January at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada,” McGregor said.

“That is my comeback fight. It is 12 weeks this Saturday. I am in prime physical condition and I have agreed the date with the company.

“As far as the opponent goes, I have the opponent’s name but for me and the game I am in and from experience, if I was to give you people the name – which I would love to do – I know the UFC would flip it because they are a crafty company so for me, here’s this one, ask the UFC who the opponent is because I don’t give a f*ck who the opponent is.”

McGregor, who has been relatively inactive in recent years, revealed his future plans following the January bout and claimed that he is targeting the winner of the upcoming BMF fight between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz before he looks to bring to fruition a fight in Moscow against the winner of Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson.
