Now this is how you welcome international sports stars to Dublin.
Final preparations are being put in place for the Women’s Rugby World Cup which begins next Wednesday August 9.
Teams from 11 nations have landed or will land in Ireland in the coming days and will join our own Girls In Green in putting on what should be a great sporting spectacle over the next few weeks.
New Zealand are one of the favourites to win the trophy and it appears they got a welcome to Dublin befitting of their status as one of the game’s best. Flanker Linda Itunu posted the following photo on Twitter showing a Garda escort leading The Black Ferns, as they are known, to their hotel from the airport.
