The quick-thinking of a heroic Garda may well have saved a runner's life during Sunday's Dublin Marathon.
Garda Niamh Connaughton was on duty for the 40th Dublin Marathon when she spotted one of the 20,000 runners displaying signs of difficulty during the 26-mile race.
She rushed to assist the man, who we now know as Giancarlo Isacchi, and administered CPR.
It's understood that Isacchi had collapsed after suffering a suspected heart attack and the quick-thinking of Garda Connaughton made all the difference before he was transported to hospital.

On Tuesday, Garda Connaughton made sure to pay Isacchi a visit in hospital, where he is said to be doing considerably better.
An Garda Siochana confirmed: "Garda Niamh Connaughton and Giancarlo Isacchi, who Niamh assisted during his marathon run on Sunday the 27th October 2019, when Giancarlo needed urgent medical assistance and our CPR hero Niamh was on hand to assist.
"Giancarlo Isacchi is now doing well in hospital."
Thankfully, he is expected to make a full recovery.
