By the looks of the videos going around on Twitter today, Shane Lowry had quite a night last night. Sure why wouldn’t he after he defeated some of the best golfers in the world to win The Open in Portrush?
The Offaly man has truly captured the nation’s heart and nobody will begrudge him letting loose for a few days, weeks or however long he feels like it.
Lowry is without a doubt the most famous man in Ireland right now and even the Gardaà can’t get enough of him. After making his way down to Dublin, Shane seemed happy to pose for a pic outside the Boar’s Head, a pub with a fine tradition of hosting sporting celebrations.
Sgt. Gillolley and Insp. Cullen from the Bridewell Garda Station met this young
fella from the Midlands on Capel St. today!
Said he won some Claret Jug up north yesterday?Congratulations Shane from all of us at An Garda SÃochána, fantastic achievement pic.twitter.com/ihOMgKpdV3

Over the years, Lowry has become known for having plenty of time for his fans and by the looks of it that won’t change now that he’s a Major winner.

You’d assume he’ll eventually make his way back to Offaly at some point in the week.
