Easy, Tiger – Here Are Our Top 6 Picks For The Tiger Dublin Fringe

katedemolder

The Dublin Tiger Fringe Festival is coming around hard and fast, with some of the world’s best and brightest coming together to celebrate the weird and wonderfulness of the creative arts.

Get stuck into some of the funniest, coolest and most incredible stage works of the moment and get yourself a ticket. STAT.

Here are the events we’re particularly looking forward to.

1. Hot Brown Honey

Delivering sass by the bucked load is Hot Brown Honey from Brisbane. Their show is a mix of burlesque, cabaret, comedy, hip hop, poetry and more.

These phenomenal woman – paired with set, lighting, music and costume to rival Beyoncé at Madison Square Garden – are unapologetically fierce. A show not to be missed.

2. RIOT

Celebrating a decade of explosive events in Irish culture (from Poptent at Electric Picnic to Alice in Funderland – The Musical), THISISPOPBABY present their most entertaining show to date, uniting the biggest stars of Irish stage and screen in this glittering roulette of the bold, brazen and totally bizarre.

RIOT stars Panti Bliss, Emmet Kirwan, Megan O’Riordan, Lords of Strut and dance duo Up & Over It. And it’s just as magical as you’d expect it to be.

3. The Vaudevillians

RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon stars in the rowdy, raucous musical comedy entitled The Vaudevillians, and it’s not one for the faint-hearted…

The Vaudevillians, a fictional 1920s duo, were victims of an avalanche which buried them under feet of snow. Thawing out, and coming back to life, nearly a century later, they discover that pop artists have stolen their music and passed it off as their own – and they’re not going to stand for it.

4. Deirdre O’Kane

Back in the ring after a seven-year break from stand up, Deirdre O’Kane returns with a brand spanking new show.

Her show is filled with what she’s learned from being a stay-at-home mum, hitting the middle-age mark, and chasing after collagen as it attempts to leave her life forever. 1Dee promises to be a hoot from start to finish, and you’ll leave with way more abs than what you came in with.

Winning.

5. An evening with Ham Sandwich

Ham Sandwich, one of Ireland’s best bands at the moment, are treating Dublin Fringe goers to a series of dreamy unplugged performances.

Niamh Farrell’s incredibly powerful vocals and Podge McNamee’s impressive baritone are enough to make anyone swoon, and with the show being held in the magical surroundings of the Spiegeltent, it won’t take long for you to be taken away to a distant place.

6. ZOO, Adrian+Shane

Now’s your chance to be a fly on the wall in the studio of Adrian+Shane, artists extraordinaire, as they create new paintings, screen prints and photographs in the heart of Temple Bar.

Get involved in the creative process and bring along what inspires you; props, clothes or something you’d love to be used in photographic portraits. Sharing your thoughts helps to fuel the imaginations of this pop art duo.

This is a really exciting and rare opportunity to actually be in the art.
