In a stunt typical of the bookmakers, who recently set up a cousin-shifting booth for country folk outside Copper’s, Paddy Power are now trying to piss off the English.
They’ve placed a poster in Cardiff today, where thousands of Irish fans are present for Ireland’s World Cup opener against Canada.
The poster is entitled ‘The World Is In Union Against England’ and it asks passers-by: “Leave your message for England here, and we’ll mail it to Twickenham on a chariot”.
The stunt seems to be working, as Irish fans have been clamouring to write their messages on the poster all day. All nice things, we’re sure.
