The Irish food scene has exploded over the past few years. 

Dublin, in particular, is experiencing something of a food renaissance, with everything from super healthy franchises to a Vegan Butcher popping up.

However, there are some things that you just can’t beat and top of that list has to be a decent bag of chips.

Yes, gloriously golden, salty chips!

With that in mind, and in the interest of balance, we’ve sought out the best bag of chips in every singe postcode in the capital. No doubt this list will cause controversy as it was difficult in many areas to choose just one, but here it goes…

Dublin 1 – Marco’s, Liffey Street

Tucked away in the Epicurean Food Hall, these chips are divine!

Dublin 2 – Leo Burdock’s, Christchurch

An old-school favourite for tasty home-cut yumminess.

Dublin 3 – La Costa, Clontarf

A seriously decent takeaway with superb fries.

Dublin 4 – Borza’s, Sandymount

Borza’s is a favourite family spot for a great bag of chips.

Dublin 5 – Macari’s, Raheny

One of the many Macari outlets, they never disappoint. 

Dublin 6 – Mizzoni’s, Rathgar

Super friendly staff and a great bag to boot.

Dublin 6W – BBQ 52, Kimmage

More than just your regular spuds, the bacon and garlic cheese fries are our favourite.

Dublin 7 – The Golden Chip, Phibsboro

Thick cut chips in great potions, what more could you want?

Dublin 8 – Fusco’s, Dolphin’s Barn

The staff here are always friendly and the prices are seriously good.

Dublin 9 – Peter’s Takeaway, Drumcondra

A handy neighbourhood spot where you’ll get a good size bag of chunky chips.

Dublin 10 – The Roma, Ballyfermot

The Italians seem to be dominating on this list and The Roma is another local favourite in Ballyfermot.

Dublin 11 – The Little Chip, Finglas

Perfect when you’re looking for something more than your run-of-the-mill chipper.

Dublin 12 – John’s Takeaway, Walkinstown

Really good local spot, with the best chips around.

Dublin 13 – Beshoff Bros, Howth

Beshoffs is a true Dublin institution. Soak up the sea air and the killer view at their spot in Howth.

Dublin 14 – Marsella’s, Churchtown

With over 50 years in the business it’s no surprise the fries are rated so highly by the locals.

Dublin 15 – Dario’s, Blanchardstown

Dario’s is cheap and cheerful and offers whopper portions.

Dublin 16 – Libero’s, Ballinteer

A lovely family-run place and they always give you an extra scoop of chips for good luck!

Dublin 17 – Di Lucia’s, Darndale

A great bag of chips with plenty of sides to go with.

Dublin 18 – Aldo’s Diner, Foxrock

Aldo’s is a good, old-fashion chipper with sound staff.

Dublin 20 – Chequers, Palmerstown

Chequers do a mean bag of chips and a real neighbourhood favourite.  

Dublin 22 – The 9th Lough Take Away, Clondalkin

The 9th Lough is the kind of place where they get to know your name and your order. Make mine a large fries with extra vinegar!

Dublin 24 – Cinelli’s, Tallaght

Another local classic, Cinelli’s is the perfect spot when you’re feeling peckish!
