We all know that eating healthy keeps us looking well, feeling great and full of energy.
However, the weekly shop can often be a bit of a drudge and one of those tasks that we keep putting to the end of our ‘to do’ list.
Luckily, you can cheat your way to enjoying the freshest of produce without leaving the comfort of our couch with these great suppliers!
Flynn’s Fresh Veg
The team at Flynn’s source their fruit and vegetables at the Corporation Market every morning to ensure that you’re getting the freshest and most seasonal produce. The company was set up in 2013 by James Flynn, a former engineer who was made redundant during the downturn.
They have tons of different options for ordering, from handpicking your own box to pre-chosen selections (which are generally really good value!). Flynn’s also offer fresh pasta and eggs, as well as a dedicated Juicing Box for the healthier among us!
Kerrigan’s Food For Fitness
We all know that we should be ‘eating clean’ but sometimes, only a spice bag will fill the void in your life (and stomach). Thankfully, the wise folks at Kerrigan’s have come up with a solution – a fakeaway version that tastes just as good. Honestly.
They’ll also deliver any manner of meats (minimum order €30) to your home or office, from their famed meatzza (yep, a pizza made out of meat) to a heap of chicken fillets. No need to stress about getting them to a fridge either as they’ll be dropped off in a freezer-box that will keep them chilled for 12 hours. Happy days.
Seafood 2 Go
When you’re ordering fish, you want to go to someone who knows what they’re doing and Doran’s On The Pier have been in the business for 55 years.
This handy site lets you order a wide of range of seafood, from cod fillets and prawns to oysters, sea bass and tuna. There’s normally a €7.50 charge for delivery but they’ll bring it to you for free if your order is over €50.
Think of all those Omega-3s!
The Fruit People
Always snacking on the wrong things in the office? Does that 3pm slump inevitably lead to a handful of biscuits from the work kitchen?
Turn over a new leaf (with the help of your colleagues) by ordering in a weekly fruit basket. These guys deliver to offices in Cork, Galway and Dublin and offer healthy treats like popcorn and rice cakes too. They’ll even add a pint of milk if you need some for the tea!
The Pure Kitchen
If you really don’t have time to cook, then this might be one for you.
The Pure Kitchen will prepare your meals and deliver them to your door, so all you have to do is heat and eat! You can choose your dishes individually or go for a meal deal, with delivery (priced at €5) taking place on Monday and Thursdays to Dublin City Centre and South County Dublin.
The collection covers all the bases, from grain-free granola to winter warmers like beef, mushroom and black pepper casserole!
