This new pizzeria on Camden Street wants to be your new haunt of the dining variety – and they do a good job in convincing you.
At the location that formerly housed Frite Haus, the chefs at Palett Pizza have been developing the menu for this since last September, sampling food all over the Amalfi Coast, Naples and Italy’s islands ‘researching’ for their project.
The place’s atmosphere was central for this team, the same team behind Camden Kitchen. Director Nicola Mitchell said,
The place is friendly and relaxed and the focus, like CK, is on the food… It’s really meant to be a neighbourhood pizzeria, done with the freshest, best seasonal ingredients. Our ethos is the same as regards all our sourcing.
Everything in the restaurant is freshly made in house every day, with their dough being the result of over 30 blends of fresh yeast, their pastas are all hand rolled, as is their Aranchini – they even make their own gelato.
Their thin-based pizza selection includes beauties like the Abbie (ham, mozzarella, artichoke, & olive), the Mare (tomato, mozzarella, mussels, prawns), the Leonardo (creme fraiche, ham, mushrooms, egg, mozzarella, olives) and lots more besides.
Don’t worry, you can also get booze here, with wines, draught beer (Barefoot Bohemian and Birra Moretti), and bottled craft beers on offer.
Their specials on soups, pasta, and salads all change daily in an effort to keep things interesting for the hungry public.
The whole idea seems to be that this is a laid back, comfortable, homey place that will make regulars of all who try it.
We want Pallet Pizza to be somewhere that people are at home with flavoursome, fresh, wholesome food. Somewhere to meet up with friends or family, eat well, and spend time together.
Nicola Mitchell
You can find Pallet Pizza at 87 Camden Street Lower.
