Popular Dublin Bar Announces It Will Close For Filming Of ‘International TV Series’

Put the kettle on, it looks like Hollywood will descend on Dublin in the coming weeks.

Popular Smithfield bar Hacienda announced on Facebook today that it will close for the filming of an ‘International TV Series’.

The post reads:

‘While it may look like we are open for business, this will be the filming activities inside. Thanks for your understanding’.

Amy Huberman’s TV series Striking Out was also filmed in the bar, with owner Shay flexing his acting muscles and taking a cameo in the show. And now it’s been suggested he may appear in the upcoming production too.

The post goes on to say:

‘As in the RTE drama "Striking Out" filmed at the Hacienda last year, we can report that Shay will have a role playing himself’.

No word yet as to what the series may be, but the Irish Film Institute did announce last year that its 2018 slate included a ‘major International TV series’.

Guess we’ll have to casually linger near Hacienda Bar over the coming weeks to find out!
