This Beloved Dublin Doughnut Company Is Closing Down This Weekend

Sarah

It’s a sad day for one of Dublin’s most creative doughnut companies, as Dublin Doughnut Co. has announced that it’s “an end of an era” as they hang up their aprons for the very last time this weekend.

Launched in late 2014 by the then 21 year old Hilary Quinn, Dublin Doughnut Co. was one of the first artisan doughnut spots in the city, with over 45 flavours including originals such as New York Cheesecake, Chocolate Malt, Lemon Curd & Mascarpone and Daim Bar.

The doughnuts were supplied to top notch cafes in town such as 147 Deli, Vice Coffee Inc., Camerino, 3fe Sussex Terrace, Dublin Barista School, 9th Degree Coffee, and Provender & Family, and you can pop in to any of those spots for a one last bite of doughy goodness until Saturday.

Just LOOK how divine these treats are…

While Dublin Doughnut Co. has a cult following of dedicated fans for whom Quinn is “ever thankful”, she is “all too aware of the saturation of the doughnut market in Dublin.”

So what’s next for the queen of doughnuts? Quinn is busy consulting on a number of interesting culinary projects and is getting geared up for an exciting year ahead. Expect to see a lot more of her in 2018.
