You Need To Check Out This Super Quirky Musical Festival In Dun Laoghaire This Weekend

Sarah

Fancy spending your weekend surrounded by happy folk chilling out in a park, strumming some tunes on a ukulele and eating delish food? ‘Course ya do.

You’ll want to check out the annual Ukulele Hooley in People’s Park in Dun Laoghaire, which is where the world’s most talented ukulele performers come together to bring great craic to our lives.

Saturday will give you the chance to try your hand at a beginners ukulele workshop, and there will also be an authentic Mexican street food stall at the Eblana Club in the town from about 1pm.

An open-topped bus full of ukulele players will be touring and busking the coastal area around Dun Laoghaire for a sightseeing tour with a twist, but our plan is to just chill out in the park alllllll weekend.

Here’s what to expect…

Sunday is the main event day of the Hooley – an eight-hour-long free concert in the beautiful People’s Park featuring some of the ukulele world’s most talented artists and groups.
