Revenue officers have seized cannabis and cigarettes in two separate raids in Dublin.
It followed a separate search on Tuesday, where Revenue’s Customs Officers discovered 11,000 cigarettes and over 12kg of tobacco in a house in Rush.
Officers, with the help of detector dog Meg, seized more than €1m worth of herbal cannabis at a warehouse in South County Dublin today.
The cigarettes, branded “Rothmans”, “L&M” and “Bond”, and tobacco, branded “West”, “Marlboro”, “Pall Mall” and “Marlboro Gold”, came from Hungary and have a retail value of more than €11,400.
A Hungarian man in his 30s has been interviewed in connection with the seizure.
The search brings the total value of drugs seized by Revenue in the past two weeks to over €10 million.
