The weather has been absolutely glorious this weekend, and luckily for us, it’s going to continue for a wee bit longer.
It’s an obligation, as an Irish person, to make the most of the sun when we get it because it’s such a rare thing.
One of the easiest and best ways to spend time in the sun is a BBQ. Get some sausages, burgers and bread and you’re all set.
But not everyone has a garden worthy of BBQ hosting, so head to one of these public spaces in and around Dublin to spend your evening muching and BBQ-ing away:
1. Phoenix Park
The whole park is not available to BBQ in, but there are now two designated areas in which you can; the existing picnic area on Furze Road between Oldtown Wood and the Ordnance Survey in the western end of the park and at the top of the Furry Glen at the picnic area.
2. Rathbeggan Lakes
There are plenty of BBQ spots around the Rathbeggan Lakes, which you can pop down to for a relaxing evening. This area is quite popular among families though, so I’d leave the cans at home.
3. Powerscourt Waterfall
Hop in the car and have a BBQ with the sounds of the waterfall running behind you. Ah, bliss.
4. Newbridge House and Farm
Newbridge House has a designated BBQ area near the playground, where you can grill to your heart’s content.
5. Ardgillan Castle
Another gorgeous spot is Ardgillan Castle. BBQs are permitted in the designated area in the top carpark just as you enter the demesne. Ideal.
