A Green Light Has Been Given To Wetherspoons Camden Street ‘Superpub’

An Bord Pleanála has given the green light for a giant Wetherspoons in the bustling area of Camden Street in Dublin city centre.

According to Dublin Live, the appeals board granted planning permission for the €4 million development at Camden Hall, along the long Dublin Street. Reports are stating that the establishment would also include a 98-bedroom-hotel.

Locals have raised concerns that the ‘super-pub’ would further “alcoholise Camden Street”, a street boasting 12 bars and 36 cafés and restaurants.

A spokesman for Wetherspoons described the ruling as ”great news”, stating that the project will lead to the creation of 200 jobs. And as far as timing, he said that the firm hopes to commence work on the project “sooner rather than later”.
