A pipe bomb exploded just outside an apartment in Castleknock, North Dublin last night.
According to the Irish Independent, the bomb was placed into a parked car outside the apartment in Dublin 15 last night at approximately 11:30 pm. No one was injured in the incident, but an apartment near the scene was damaged.

Gardaí believe that when the bomb exploded, fragments of it flew into the window of the ground apartment, which the car was parked near.
This apartment was also involved in an incident last year whereby a shot was fired at the front door.
The cause for both pipe bomb and shooting last year are unknown.
Investigations are ongoing.
