Dublin’s football talisman Diarmuid Connolly has lost his appeal against a 12-week ban for laying his hand on a linesman during the victory over Carlow earlier this month.
The GAA’s Central Hearings Committee upheld the ban. It was decided that the Vincent’s man’s actions warranted a 12-week sanction for ‘minor physical interference with an official’.
The news is a bit of a blow for Dublin as the ban will last until August 27 meaning Connolly could potentially be out of action up to and including an All-Ireland semi-final.
