A bomb disposal team has been called to Ballsbridge this afternoon, after a hand grenade was found in the area.
The Defence Forces Bomb Disposal Team attended the scene after a device was found in the river.
Several of those who were in the area at the time took to Twitter to share the breaking news, posting video and pictures from the site.

Twitter user, Anthony Kelly, posted footage online this lunch time showing the suspected hand grenade being safely detonated.
While the operation is ongoing, the bridge is out of use for the public until further notice.
