Helios to open Ireland’s first ever floating sauna in Dublin

"What started as an idea is now becoming a reality."

The group famous for their sauna experiences across the capital and beyond announced today that the floating sauna will open at Dún Laoghaire Harbour this May.

"What started as an idea is now becoming a reality," they wrote on Instagram.

The launch video showed the process of bringing the floating sauna concept to life from a group on a research trip to Oslo, to planning and meeting with engineers.

Plans for the sauna were announced in August last year, when they wrote on Instagram: "In partnership with Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council, we’re delivering the biggest sauna news of the year."

Speaking to Newstalk at the time, Mikolaj Piotrowski from Helios Sauna revealed they had beat several other business to win the tender to operate the facility.

"People will be able to come down the steps in Dun Laoghaire harbour and step onto a pontoon and then enter the floating sauna.

"So yeah, it'll be fully on the water. It's like a mini boat."

Well, we can't wait to try it out!
