The National Bus and Rail Union (NBRU) have just announced that Bus Éireann will be striking from midnight tonight.
According to 98fm, the strike announcement follows a letter to staff last night from acting Chief Executive of Bus Eireann, Ray Hernan.
Hernan mentioned that, at present, there is no prospect of the situation changing due to the Unions' current financial position. He also mentioned that there is no basis for talks reconvening, at the moment.
Bus Eireann has previously stated it needs to make €12,000,000 of savings by the month of May, or the company will be forced into bankruptcy.
