The Irish Times is reporting that passengers bound for Dublin Airport were left stuck in Lanzarote on Sunday evening due to bad weather.
The flight was due to leave the island on Sunday evening at 6:45pm but failed to materialise as the country was hit with ferocious wind and rain leaving their incoming flight unable to land.
Passengers had checked in themselves and their bags on the flight but were told that the best they could expect was an early flight at 9:30am on Monday morning
That came to no avail and a Ryanair spokesperson told the publication on Monday night that they hoped to get a plane into Lanzarote to get a plane home.
“This flight scheduled to depart from Lanzarote to Dublin (25 Feb) has been delayed due to adverse weather conditions in Lanzarote,” he said in a statement.
“The aircraft for the flight is currently positioned in Fuerteventura awaiting clearance from Lanzarote airport (which is in backlog due to weather) to allow it to land there and operate the Lanzarote-Dublin flight this evening.”
The Irish Mirror is now reporting however that the flight deparated Lanzarote at 21:15 local time.
