Dublin Bus Will Strike On The Day Of The All-Ireland Replay

If you're planning to head back to Croke Park for the All-Ireland replay, please note that Dublin Bus will be striking on the day in question.

Last week the strike was revealed to be taking place on October 1, when SIPTU made this announcement about the upcoming dates for Dublin Bus' industrial action:

The stoppages will take place on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday September 28. These are in addition to the 48-hour work stoppage already scheduled for next week (Friday 23 and Saturday September 24). In October, the work stoppages will take place on Saturday 1, Wednesday 5, Friday 7, Monday 10, Wednesday 12, Friday 14, Tuesday 18, Wednesday 19, Monday 24, Wednesday 26 and Saturday 29.

Speaking to TheJournal.ie, National Bus and Rail Union (NBRU) general secretary Dermot O’Leary said that members of the public demanding a rescheduling of the strike on the day in question "just to facilitate a one-off occasion is frankly insulting to both staff and their regular commuters".

The strikes are taking place in an effort for the drivers to secure a 15% pay increase over the next three years.
