Dublin Fire Brigade are absolute troopers. They rescue cats from the Liffey, people from second storey windows, and extinguish blazes all over the city.
This weekend they really worked their asses off.
First thing Saturday morning they sent three engines to a multi-car collision on the N4.
Then a quick whiparound to Finglas where a male was having a heart attack, followed by yet another road traffic accident in Dolphins Barn.
What’s next? Oh, just a huge derelict house fire in Lusk to deal with.

Saturday madness continued with an electrical fire in a Donabate caravan park.
And Sunday? Sunday was just as hectic.
The crew battled a car fire in Rush in the early morning, and then dealt with:
- A large gorse fire beside Woodbrook golf club
- A car fire in Glovers Court
- Bushes on fire in Donnybrook
- A fire on the beach in Rush
- A fire in Ballymun
- A hotel fire in Finnsbrook
- Another huge gorse fire in Glencullen
Yikes. As the Fire Brigade says, please do “be careful.”
We’ve been alerted to this gorse #fire in Glencullen & a unit from D’brook has attended. Dry weather = be careful in the countryside #Dublin pic.twitter.com/gRq43NxtzB
