Dublin’s newest tourist attraction has opened in West Dublin, and we’re all very excited about it.
The brand new Round Tower Heritage Centre is a €3.5 investment into enhancing the historic Round Tower with an interactive interpretive centre, a monastic garden and a fabulous Happy Pear Café.
Family friendly, accessible and bringing to life the history of not just the tower but of Dublin throughout the ages – this new spot is just as much for Dubliners as it is for far-travelled visitors.
Providing you with information, witty retort and conversational banter throughout your journey will be one of forty locals who’ve graduated from a special volunteer tour guide programme and will be running tours in lots of languages during peak tourism times.
Cllr. Emer Higgins, Fine Gael Group Leader in South Dublin and Local Councillor for the area spoke to Lovin Dublin about the new attraction:
”A huge well done to South Dublin County Council and all those involved in the Heritage Group and Rally Round The Tower group who developed this vision and waited patiently for this day…it was worth it!”
Entry is totally free and the centre boasts ample parking.
The Clondalkin Round Tower Visitor Centre is opening from 8am – 8pm each day and is situated next to the Happy Pear Café.
