Dublin traffic is alarmingly poor this evening due to a number of collisions and breakdowns on some of the capital's main roads.
According to AA Roadwatch, there are delays leaving the city on the Chapelizod Bypass from before the Kylemore Rd junction past the Oval in Palmerstown. This is due to a collision before the J6 Celbridge on the N4/M4 Dublin/Sligo Rd, which is adding to delays from J3 Lucan.
As well as this, a breakdown on Father Matthew Bridge is blocking both northbound lanes. Gardaí are directing traffic but there are delays from the Long Lane junction on New St through to Christchurch and onto Bridge St.
As a result, it’s very busy heading onto Patrick St from after the Ardee St junction on Cork St inbound and from Cuffe St through Kevin St outbound.
AA Roadwatch took to Twitter to announce another crash on the Wyattville Link Road, causing delays on the N11.

Heavy delays are to be expected from Northern Cross on the Clarehall Rd (R139/Old N32) westbound right through to the M1/M50 interchange, Eastbound on the Clarehall Rd due to M50 delays.
However, upon avoiding the Clarehall Road, you'll also find delays on Malahide Rd from the Darndale R/A all the way out to Kinsealy.
According to AA Roadwatch:
''It’s busy on Macken St northbound from the Grand Canal St junction over Samuel Beckett Bridge. Nearby, there are inbound delays from the Barrow St jct on Ringsend Rd through Pearse St to the South Quays, where it's very busy from George's Quay to Usher's Quay.
On the North Quays, it’s busy from Wolfe Tone Quay to Inns Quay.
Along the Grand Canal westbound, it’s slow from Leeson St Bridge to Harold’s Cross.
It’s busy approaching the Merrion Gates from Sydney Parade Ave on the Strand Rd and from St Vincent’s Hospital on the Merrion Rd outbound. Nearby, the Stillorgan Rd is busy from Trees Rd out to Kilmacud Rd Lwr.
Leaving the city, it’s slow from Connolly Station on Amiens St to North Strand.''
