We're getting reports of frantic scenes in the freezer aisles of Australia's super markets, as Birdeye have just announced that they have plans to pull their ever-popular potato waffles from the market.
Panic-buying has ensued down under, following the announcement that the much-loved snack will no longer be available in the Southern Hemisphere.
No shipments of the product have entered the country since April.
Dublin woman, author Tizzie Hall has been one of the many to stock up - claiming an impressive 1,300 packets of the frozen potato snack.
The desire for the snacks to remain on shelves is so great, that a Facebook page has been created to stop the change, with 1,210 fans at the time of writing.
A post from the administrator of the ever-growing Facebook page states:
"This page was set up in the hope the Birdseye will see there is a massive demand from Irish and English people living in Australia for Birdseye Potato Waffle."
It's hoped that the page will garner enough attention that the company will continue to produce the snack and put an end to the waffle drought.
