Father Of Three Dies As Car Collides With Bicycle In Rathfarnham

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the death of a cyclist in a road traffic collision in Rathfarnham on Monday morning. 

According to Independent.ie, the incident took place oatButterfield Park on Monday at 8.10am.

The collision involved a male cyclist in his 50s and a car.

The cyclist received serious injuries to his head and was rushed to Tallaght Hospital where he was pronounced dead last night.

The man is understood to be a father of three young girls. 

This latest fatality brings the number of cyclists to have died on our roads to eleven.

Gardaí are still appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact Rathfarnham Garda Station 01 666 6500, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
