Dublin Bus and Irish Rail workers will join in a Bus Eireann protest outside Leinster House tomorrow to show support for the strike, which has now entered its fifth day.
Siptu say that Dublin Bus and Irish Rail workers believe that they are next in the firing line if management in Bus Eireann is allowed to force through cuts to wages and changes to conditions of employment of their staff.
Siptu has also warned that the anger felt by those working in the transport sector is the highest it has been in decades.
According to SIPTU Sector Organiser, Willie Noone, their meeting this morning also “gave a mandate for a ballot for industrial action of union members in Dublin Bus and Irish Rail in sympathy with and in support of their colleagues in Bus Eireann.”
