An Air France flight from Paris that was destined for Dublin Airport was forced to declare emergency and make a sudden landing in Stansted Airport last night.

The Irish Independent reports that flight AF1016 was due to land in Dublin at 9pm, but instead suffered mechanical issues over the south of England and had to divert to London.

A spokesman for Stansted airport told Independent.ie that the plane landed safely at the airport, and no passengers were harmed.
