It would appear that the angry mob have moved on from Ryanair and have today taken aim at MyTaxi who has today announced they'll be adding a €2 booking fee to all taxi journeys from tomorrow onwards.
The company had been waiving the fee until now, but have changed that policy in a mail sent to all customers today.
From tomorrow MyTaxi will no longer waive the €2 booking fee and it will be added to all fares...
Email from @mytaxi_ie : drivers will now charge a €2 'booking fee' on top of the fare. App this is 'industry standard'. pic.twitter.com/9HJdrBSTJi

Needless to say people are not one bit happy to be paying an extra €2 on every fare and have taken to Twitter to vent their anger...
So from tomorrow @mytaxi_ie will allow drivers to charge the €2 booking fee was the whole point of #hailo that this wasn’t charged pic.twitter.com/a1tuy4aoo0

So not only do .@mytaxi_ie offer a significantly poorer service than Hailo did but now they're going to charge a €2 booking fee. #goodbye

Things got so bad in terms of taxi supply on MyTaxi that they've added the €2 surcharge. Can't say I'm surprised. pic.twitter.com/1gtjCEoXRy

1/2 Hi Conor! It's an industry standard fee. We used to ask our drivers to discount it, and as of tomorrow we're no longer asking them to.
