Homeless Mother, Margaret Cash, To Move Into New Home Today After Leaving Apartment

Jen

Homeless mother, Margaret Cash, is due to move into new accommodation today in Drumcondra after being forced to leave a three-bedroom apartment given to her last week.

Margaret and six of her kids made headlines two weeks ago when they were forced to sleep in Tallaght Garda Station.

Her seventh child was staying with friends after being released from the hospital.

The Dublin mum spoke of her delight and relief when she was told they had an apartment on a trial basis.

But, she was devastated when she was told she had to move because the landlord needed the apartment back for new tenants.

She wrote on Facebook, “The landlord needs the apartment back because he has it let from the 2nd of September. The council got my hopes up they said it was long-term on a month to month basis. What do I tell my kids… I really can’t cope with this feel heartbroken.”

According to the Irish Sun, Dublin City Council admitted their error as they booked the apartment “in good faith.”

“Unfortunately we’ve had to move them?.?.?.?but we have sourced other accommodation for them. It is just really unfortunate.”
