It’s Been A Crazy 24 Hours For Dublin Fire Brigade

Working in the emergency services is a tough job and it can get particularly busy at this time of year.

And if you ever wondered just how busy it can get, the latest tweet from Dublin Fire Brigade will be a bit of an eye-opener!

The team has revealed that it dealt with 53 fire and rescue incidents and 227 emergency cases in the last 24 hours and they still found time for an impromptu animal rescue...

We responded to 53 Fire/Rescue cases in the 24 hours from 0900 Tuesday, incl 12 grass/bushes/gorse fires, and we rescued a family of Swans! pic.twitter.com/MSZIA0fbM4

Gorse fires are very common at this time of year as rising temperatures can ignite dry vegetation.

However, Coillte has warned that many of these fire are being deliberately set by vandals and can cause widespread devastation to the landscape - as seen with the massive fire in Galway this week.
