It’s Landed – This Year’s John Lewis Christmas Ad Is Possibly Their Best One Yet

Who cares that we don’t even have John Lewis in Ireland?

Their Christmas ads have become staples of the festive season, being made with an artistic flair that really makes us not care whether or not they’re trying to just sell stuff.

And their 2015 effort has just upped the ante altogether – providing a slightly dark but utterly beautiful two-minute clip that’s going to be talked about a lot today.

Aiming to raise awareness for Age UK, ‘Man On The Moon’ is soundtracked by a characteristically stripped back version of Oasis’s Half The World Away (the theme to another Christmas staple, The Royle Family), performed by Norwegian singer Aurora. And all in all, the piece packs a seriously powerful punch.

John Lewis, you’ve done it again – and you just keep getting better.
