We all would love to go on holidays.
Although it can be stressful trying to get to the airport on time, we do enjoy the hustle and bustle of Dublin Airport.
There is that buzz and excitement in the air as everyone there is going away. You just can’t beat it.
Well, last month saw Dublin Airport’s busiest August ever with a record breaking 3.1 million passengers using the airport in that month alone. Woah.
It marked the airport’s second consecutive month of welcoming more than three-million passengers and numbers increased by 7% last month which made it the busiest August in Dublin Airport’s 77 year history.
This year so far has seen more than 20 million passengers in our own very airport and has increased by 6% in the past 8 months compared to the same time last year.
It seems that Europe was the hot spot for travellers with more than 1.6 million passengers travelling to European destinations during the month of August. Just over 922,000 of those passengers took flights to and from the UK.
More than 409,000 passengers travelled to North America in August and 95,000 travelled to other international destinations, which includes flights to the Middle East and Africa.
We are bound to hit some high numbers by the time the year is out.
