German supermarket giant Lidl is recalling two batches of Kania Gravy Granules (for both chicken and meat) in the UK after it was discovered that the product contains dangerous levels of a paint thinner chemical known as xylene.
Xylene occurs naturally in petroleum and crude oil but exposure to this chemical is extremely harmful and can lead to headaches, dizziness, nausea and vomiting according to the British FSA.
UPDATE: It has been confirmed that Kania Gravy Granules being sold in Irish Lidl branches are not affected.
