If you were planning to get out and about this weekend, we’ve got some bad news.

The weather forecast for the weekend is in… and it’s not looking good.

According to Met Eireann, we’re set for showers as the day goes on but temperatures are set to remain mild.

“A mostly dry start across the east and southeast, however scattered showers elsewhere, will gradually extend eastwards through the day. Still feeling mild however during sunny spells this afternoon. Southwesterly breezes will be mostly moderate in strength, but fresh and gusty for a time yet along the north and northwest coastline.”

Tomorrow, things are set to take a turn for the worse with thundery downpours on the way.

“A showery day for tomorrow, widespread and heavy through the day, with the risk of thundery downpours. Some brief sunny spells occurring. Top temperatures will again range 15 to 19 degrees, in mostly moderate southwest breezes.”

Bring the raincoat if you’re heading out!
